Resources at Stanford’s Career and Development Center

stanford cdc

We try to promote bay area resources that are open to the public, however, the Stanford Career and Development Center (CDC) is only available for Stanford affiliates and their spouses. If you are lucky enough to be a part of the Stanford Community, and are looking for work, the CDC can help you to achieve your employment goals!

The CDC is located at 563 Salvatierra Walk, Stanford University, near the Law School. Intern, Andrea Chung, recently attended a Friday Morning Coffee Session at Bechtel, to meet with spouses and provide more information about the services that the CDC offer.

Specific resources for spouses include:
-A 45 minute appointment with a career counselor to receive any career related assistance (e.g. career exploration, job search/networking strategies, etc.)
**Limited to one appointment per academic year, and must sign up on the CDC website with your spouse’s Stanford student account
-Spouses may also logon with their spouse’s Stanford account to see internship and full-time postings on the CDC website’s job database
**If you plan to actually apply for an open position, however, contact the employer directly
-Beginning the week of January 27th, 2014, the CDC will offer drop-in hours throughout the winter quarter, Mon.-Thurs. from 1:30-4:30 pm. It’s best to stop by these drop-in hours for QUICK career related questions and CV/résumé reviews
-The CDC also has its very own career library with various books about different industries along with a knowledgeable and helpful librarian, Carol. Spouses are welcome to come check out the career library

In addition to the ongoing resources, the CDC will be hosting two workshops specifically designed for spouses, in the coming weeks.
