Blossom Birth – Your Resource for Pregnancy, Birth & Parenthood

blossom birth logoAre you a new or expectant parent? Looking for advice and support? There are lots of places in the Bay Area which provide support, classes and events for parents. We’ll highlight a few of them in the blog in the coming months.

Our first spotlight will be on Blossom Birth. Blossom Birth is a non-profit education and resource center that provides parents and birth professionals with a balanced, non-judgmental view of pregnancy, childbirth, and early parenting. Through classes, workshops, support groups, and accessibility to community resources, Blossom strives to support and inform expectant and new parents to raise healthy, secure children – making our community strong now and into the future.

Don’t miss the Birth and Family Fair which is happening this weekend, Saturday 21 September, 2013 from 10am-3pm, in Palo Alto. During the fair they are offering all types of FREE classes and talks, as well a rummage sale (like a garage sale). Gently used baby and maternity gear and clothing will be available, and most items will cost between just $2-5! Check out their site for complete events details and to register for a workshop.

Blossom Birth really does provide an amazing variety of support. From pre and post-natal yoga, birthing classes, breastfeeding support, to playgroups and dads groups. There is a resources library on-site including more than 700 books and DVD’s. There are also monthly groups held in different languages, such as Spanish and Japanese. In case you’re feeling like you have some free time, or just need an excuse to get out of the house, they are also looking for volunteers – AND offer opportunities to volunteer with your baby.
