A British woman conducting a study about expatriate spouses is seeking to interview volunteers who live in the Bay Area – Like you!

If you are recently expatriate from outside the U.S., live in the Bay Area for 1-3 years and married to someone who is employed in the region, then you are the perfect match for this study.

E. Kennart is also an expatriate and she is conducting a research study for her doctoral dissertation at Alliant International University. The focus of her study is “to explore the experiences and to uncover some of the challenges a spouse encounters when accompanying an expatriate on an overseas assignment. In particular, the study will attempt to provide a better understanding of how people try to adjust to their new environment with a view to developing methods to ease the adjustment process“. Her “goal is to develop a coaching program to assist expatriate spouses in adjusting to living in a new country.

The interviews will take about 1-2 hours and can be conducted at a site convenient for you. The data will be confidential and your anonymity will be fully respected.
